Since the start of all this, the only people who consistently rang alarm bells about both the use of anti-antisemitism as authoritarian crackdown on political dissent and the problem of antisemitism in the pro-Palestine movement have been a small number of left-wing Jews on Bluesky.

This ignorance by large swaths of the left on both sides of this issue will be shown to be one of its greatest failures and can arguably be compared to its failure of solidarity in the Italian conquest of Ethiopia.

@rheinze I‘m honestly not sure who‘s your audience here. The crucial words in your first paragraph are BOTH and AND. You should have no difficulties finding proxies _for one or the other_ position but almost NEVER both. As long as there are two camps which are both loath to acknowledge BOTH your observations, there is no way foward. From my 20+ yrs coexistence with the (German) (radical) (left) (strike as convenient) what u call „ignorance“ is for the most part a conscious decision.
@seufz I don't know if that's a conscious decision rather than a question of political priorities - in the case of both the German and the US left with their own view of their own society, which is projected onto Israel, but yes.
@rheinze I agree, it‘s probably both or a mix of the two.
