Out of migraine medicine because my doctor messed up my prescription. So now I’m living on caffeine and earplugs.
Sound is my number one trigger. Followed by smell, light and temperature. Wish I had less sensitive nervous system. But why would I have any good things, since it’s against universe’s rules?

@farah

If you don't mind, what do you do to turn them all down?

#sameIssue

@ipd I can’t do anything about most of it. That’s why I take a beta-blocker as a preventative medicine. But currently out of it.

Earplugs for noise. Ice packs on head in summer I guess

@farah
I work with leaving the room,
hot bath, heavy blanket with stim edges.
I never heard about Beta Blokes for this.

Thanks

@ipd Are you talking about migraine or sensory issues? They might need separate ways to deal with them

@farah
Most evenings I'm able to get very very quiet. At a certain point, my mate gets up to do her evening things. That's when I notice everything is turned up to 11.

If I leave the room first, I head it off.
But other days I can't avoid it. No head pain, like headaches.

It's been the same all my life, (I'm old) I figured out that I"m Late High, only a couple of years ago. When I recap, It's been going my entire life. I've always thought 'this' was normal.

It explains so much!! We, collectively know now what we never knew then. It makes a BIG difference.

@farah

I noticed your name change...
Are you an apex reditor?

@farah If it's any help when I had migraines I used to alternate paracetamol* and ibuprofen tablets. You can take either 4 hourly but as they are different types of drug you can, for example take paracetamol at 8am, 12 noon 4pm and ibuprofen at 10am, 2pm, 6pm and so on.
* Paracetamol is called something different in the US but I've forgotten what!
@pthane Thanks! Unfortunately I can’t take paracetamol (it’s Tylenol in USA, but I’m familiar with both terms as I was born and raised in Bangladesh, a former British colony).
@farah I can't take ibuprofen (kidney problems) but fortunately the migraines stopped when I left teaching. Funny that!
@pthane Just wanted to let you know the ibuprofen actually worked. So thank you!! 💕
