It was never about whether or not we had the money. Pointing out the mendacity of politicians who use "fiscal conservatism" to destroy society is only effective if you call them damn liars and demand they resign.

Cleverly observing that war is expensive but everything we actually want is less expensive simply continues the framing they want, which is around money and not humanity and decency.
