When I see these arguments I'm like "you're *almost* there!" bc

It was never about whether or not we had the money. Pointing out the mendacity of politicians who use "fiscal conservatism" to destroy society is only effective if you call them damn liars and demand they resign.

Cleverly observing that war is expensive but everything we actually want is less expensive simply continues the framing they want, which is around money and not humanity and decency.

Yes, memes very rarely hit exactly at the truth due, largely, to their briefness.

True, there's plenty of tax revenue (or could be if the rich & their corporations were sufficiently taxed) to cover all basic human needs. And true that war is always terrible for civilians & the environment and almost always about enriching and/or gaining power for the tiniest & wealthiest fraction of society.

But if we're really going to go deep, then why stop at calling them liars & demanding they resign? They'd only be replaced by other oligarchs &/or their stooges. Why not demand a complete restructuring of society such that the workers own the means of production; where there are no oligarchs and no poverty; where everyone has sufficient amounts of all the good and necessary things in life, like food, housing, medical care, education, daycare, leisure time, clean air and water and the freedom to exist and participate in all aspects of society knowing they will be safe, respected and supported, regardless of their identity?

Nailed it Mike. In addition, content like this serves to break the first layer of programming, for people who might not have cut through the 'fiscal discipline' frame yet, or who haven't internalized that the GOP are thoroughly dishonest.
