A lot of people commenting on the #Firefox profile pic change with tons of negativity. I think they all think that Firefox is going to ditch the fox in favour of a purple circle. To me, this seems extremely unlikely.

Instead, I suspect this is just to get people's attention while subtley hinting at the redesign, they're about to launch.

@asterix Mozilla has done a lot of things that no one wanted them to do, so I get people's inclination towards skepticism. But people also jump to pretty illogical conclusions and get needlessly worked up.
