Went down to my local Apple Store to try out a Neo. I was there only briefly, but the number of people walking out of the store with one was eye-popping. Neo's first weekend won't do iPhone numbers, but I bet it's the best-selling Mac introduction in a long time.
The Neo feels solid - this thing is durable. The finishes are terrific. Keyboard is great and the trackpad feels very natural to someone who's been trackpad-only for years (I can't remember the last mouse I used). Display was bright but I can easily tell the difference between it and my MacBook Pro, but I bet someone coming from a Chromebook would be thrilled.
This computer is a knockout punch to the lower-end of the market. I'd so much rather Apple spend their margin on this new model than burning through it on AI and sending revenue to NVIDIA.
