…but this is by and large false. They negotiate with, distort, and repurpose their putatively sacred texts to serve contemporary ideological needs at least as much as, if not more than, the folks they think of as theological liberals. We are not obliged to humor their false narrative.

The Rapture was made up out of whole cloth in the 19th century. The idea that abortion is tantamount to murder from the moment of conception is found nowhere in the Bible, and was not the dominant view for most of the history of Christianity.
