..and they say Windows is easy. Just had the terrible experience of installing windows on a laptop to sell. Took ages, and lets not mention the amount of missing drivers after the installation was "finished". 🤬
My normal arch installation (or almost any linux installation even) takes maybe 10-15 minutes with installation and configuration and it's ready to rock. Lets hope I never have to install this sloperating system ever again. #linux
@sagevik
I had to install Microslop's OS for work recently and my gaaawd it was so much pain.
Thankfully Rufus allowed me to bypass the forced online surveillance checks.
It's worth noting that I used Windows since XP and can't recall needing a driver to detect the drive that I want to install on, but nowadays, I need that driver for Windows 10 & 11 installs.
@retrimental Windows XP was a relatively likable experience compared to today's situation I would say. Switched to mac after XP, and then to linux 3-4 years ago I think. Not seeing myself going back to either win or mac anytime soon. Definitely not for private use, and I'll also use linux at work as long as company policy don't change and windows become a requirement. ..if so I might even consider switching jobs 😆
