Day 2 of #NinhBinh, northern #Vietnam.

The boat rides at Trang An UNESCO World Heritage Site are quite touristy, but for a very good reason - incredible, unspoiled #nature.

The timing was unfortunate: on a Sunday with many domestic tourists. Good for them đź‘Ť, but impossible to avoid the crowds. Therefore we skipped the Tam Coc boat tour and instead explored the region riding a bicycle, with endless rice fields on one side and limestone cliffs on the other.

This perspective really shows the extent of both the rice fields and the limestone hills. One appreciates it even more after getting soaking wet from sweat on the way to this viewpoint…

@bigz It's a pretty fabulous area. I really enjoyed my time in Phong Nha, south of Ninh Binh. Lots of caves, and a pretty quiet region, by Vietnamese standards.
