@mako Grief and the AI split resonates with me. I'm more of a griever-for-the-craft kind of person.

It's interesting to think of these new tools and processes as another step forward, similar to moving from circuit manipulation to functional programming. I wonder if those past progressions carried the same types of ethical and ecological problems that we see with AI.

@andrewortwein After 30 years or so in software engineering, every few years there seems to be a jump forward that leads the last years behind. But the experience you gain from all that is incredibly valuable.

This one seems a doozy though with regards to ethics and environmental issues.
