🚨 Reckless Marketing Vomit: A Case Study in AI Misuse

Today, I received a robocall from a 10-digit mobile number (+917965258232). A synthetic voice — claiming to be ' #AdityaKachave — launched into a pre-recorded pitch about an 'AI workshop.'

No pause, no interaction, just a wall of sound.

When I tried asking questions, the system expected keypad input, then dumped me into dead air. Classic broken IVRS.

Here's why this matters:

1️⃣ Illegal Series
Promotional calls must originate from the 140 series (Telemarketing) or 1600 series (Service). Using a standard 10-digit mobile number makes this an Unregistered Telemarketer (UTM) violation under TRAI TCCCPR (2018/2025).
2️⃣ Broken Autodialer
This wasn't a workshop invite. It was a 'lead warm-up' — checking if humans pick up. The system couldn't handle basic interaction.
3️⃣ No Consent Trail
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) 2023, promotional outreach without verifiable opt-in is punishable. Fines range from ₹50–250 Crores.
⚖️ Why it's dangerous
• Erodes trust in AI: Instead of empowering professionals, it weaponizes synthetic voices for spam.
• Violates privacy: No consent, no transparency.
• Mis-guidance: Selling the myth of 'AI or you'll be replaced' while itself breaking compliance laws.
📢 What can YOU do?
• Citizens: File complaints at the Sanchar Saathi / Chakshu portal
• Regulators: Enforce TRAI and DPDP provisions — reckless marketing must be penalized
• Professionals: Use AI responsibly — for productivity, not predatory spam

💡 I'm sharing the call recording and screenshots as evidence. AI can multiply productivity — but only when used ethically.
