My guess is there will not be a Congressional election this year

Ok, so assuming there IS an election and assume the Dems take control. What then? Like everything will get better? Sure. I’ll hold my breath.
You then vote for the next, most left option and keep doing that. People not voting consistently is how things kept shifting to the right. Or the fourth box option. Either way, just don’t encourage inaction.
I think your overestimating the number of left wing candidates.
No, not really. I said “most left option”. Use shitty centrists to get ride of the fascists, then start getting in real left wing people and clear out the centrists. Rightwingers played a long game by shifting the overton window over. But like I said, that or the fourth box option.

Things will be less likely to get worse.

As in bodies in the street worse. Go watch ‘Hotel Rwanda’. That’ll be the US if dipshits continue to sit around refusing to use what non violent options they have left.

Let me tell you a story.

In my country there used to be two right-wing parties. One was led by a crass tycoon with no sense of the institutions, decency snd stuff like that, the other was led by a career politician who had been handpicked by a literal fascist (as in he helped Nazi during WWII).

The tycoon only wanted to line his pockets, the career politician penned extremely violent laws against migrants and drug users.

Even left-wing people used to say that at least the career politician had manners and knew how to speak in public.

Of course things are going to improve for some minorities with Dems in charge, but not for all (Obama and Biden kept on putting people in cages) and the US economy cannot be fixed with a Bandaid approach.

Not to mention servilism to Israel.

USA is basically 2 right wing parties as well, one is fully fascists, the other one is just a “pretend not to be facist” parties that donor wants to allow to keep up the illusion of choice, also 1 AOC and 1 bernie in both houses to say “we have a diverse pool” to prevent a coup/take over the dnc by more left candidates.

Everything will get worse a lot slower than it is right now.

Trump won’t be able to make any progress with legislation, but neither will the Dems, because they won’t have a veto-proof majority.

Some bad stuff will still get done, likely as a result of Dems being foolish enough to attempt to compromise with Republicans, at which point literally any concession beyond what would otherwise be a complete and utter stalemate is declared as a win by the right wing. The conservatives will not reciprocate in any meaningful way.

The other way bad stuff will still happen is that we will still have problems in our country that need solving, but there will be no incentive for Republicans or Democrats to actually work together to solve them, so minor fixable problems will fall by the wayside until at least the next presidential election year when they’ve become too large and costly or inconvenient to ignore and the problems caused by government inaction then become political footballs for each side to blame on the other.

Sounds about right. Yes better than the fast spiral into fascism we have now but still not great.
