Media wants us to feel sorry for Israeli soldiers who committed genocide and killed 20 people a day.

Not for the Palestinians who suffered genocide
Not for the Iranian families who lost 170 children
Not for the tens of thousands of orphans in Gaza

They want us to weap for the poor helpless Israeli soldiers who have to live with the trauma of knowing they "just followed orders" to mass murder innocent children like Hind Rajab.

Nah—I hope they enjoy their self made hell in this life & the next

@QasimRashid You should read the article, because they're not saying what you claim they're saying. They're not saying that we should hug an IDF soldier; the clinicians who are being interviewed are saying that this cycle of violence is destroying the psyche of everyone in the region, and that the only logical outcome of this violence will be more violence.

The author and the interviewees are absolutely anti-war, anti-genocide. They see exactly where this all leads.

@Legit_Spaghetti @QasimRashid

The individual regret of genocidal soliders is basically irrevant. They followed the orders to murder innocent people, men, women and children alike. That weight should hang on them for their entire lives, and with any grace, end with them in prison. The fact their goverment pushed them to commit genocide is a form of abuse, and it should be treated with great shame. It still doesnt absolve them of their choice to murder.

Your link looks to have failed so I cant read it, but it seems to be akin to this story from 2024:

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20241022-israeli-soldiers-commit-suicide-after-seeing-horrors-the-world-can-never-truly-comprehend/

That one is about an armored bulldozer driver that talked about running over hundreds of Palestinians, living and dead, and who evetually killed himself. There is a lot of talk about grief and sadness and plenty of dancing around his murders(maybe he killed someone, maybe some children died....), but it ends with the only revelant sentence:

>Despite the mounting evidence of severe psychological trauma among Israeli soldiers and the devastating personal toll of the genocide in Gaza, recent surveys indicate that only six per cent of Israelis believe that the military operation in the besieged enclave should be halted.

94% of Israels want this to happen. They support it, even as their sons and daughters kill themselves over the heinous acts they have commited. They have no chance of penance and redemption when their entire society clambers for the genocide they commited in its name.

Israeli soldiers commit suicide after seeing horrors the world can never truly comprehend

Israeli soldiers returning from Gaza are reporting severe psychological trauma, with some taking their own lives after witnessing what they describe as horrors that the outside world can never trul…

@liquidlamp it should be very easy to oppose Israel’s war in gaza without being antisemitic, but its obviously a challenge many of you cannot pass.

@vy by all means tell me whats antisemetic about qouting a genocidal soliders own words, and the words of his family, about the murders he commited. Please, tell me whats antisemitism about refrencing a poll that Israels partipated in making their desire to keep killing clear. It is not antisemtic to honestly access that Israel, in its own words and actions, feverently supports the genocide of Palestine.

Being jewish doesnt make them murderers, being murderers makes them murderers.

@liquidlamp well aside from your Orwellian misuse of the word genocide, its very common for armies to commit atrocities and national populations to excuse them- nothing distinctive about Israel except that it is Jews. How many Turks oppose oppression and genocide of Kurds?

@vy so no actual antisemitism, got it.

If your only defense of genocide is "look, other genocide!" its no defense at all.

@liquidlamp im not defending anything. Im criticizing your antisemitism.
@vy @liquidlamp I have trouble understanding your definition of antisemitism.
@phips @liquidlamp What do you think should happen to Israel and Israeli Jews? Many people who use the kind of language @liquidlamp uses actually favor the genocide of Israeli Jews. The nicer ones say "go back to Poland" as if European Jews fled to Israel for no reason and despite the fact that the majority of Israeli Jews come from families that never lived in Europe at all. Sometimes they say Israeli Jews should accept minority status in a single state as if that was not the same thing.
@vy @liquidlamp I can not find any criticism or even mention of Jews or Judaism in the post of @liquidlamp. Can you point me to the kind of language, or to where in the text violence is advocated?
@phips @liquidlamp Will you answer my question?
