Since my Wacom Cintiq 27QHD no longer gets driver updates for MacOS26, I decided to give Linux a try on an late 2014 Mac Mini.
Booting Pop! OS was very easy.
The process to get the WiFi working looked like a pain, but getting any Wacom hardware looked even more dreadful.
I don't think Linux is for me sadly. 😞

@khfr

Linux is also for you.

You just tried on bad hardware.

Blame it on the hardware, not on Linux ;-)

@rincewind I get your point. I'd say it's more of a misfit between the hardware and software.
Programmed obsolescence is really to blame.

@khfr

Just quick checked, maybe try a different distribution.

Fedora or Ubuntu, should both have the Wacom drivers included. From what I read, Wacom is actually supporting Linux.

If you stll have problems, try the Fedora or Ubuntu community support. Both very helpful.

@rincewind Which would you recommend for a purely Drawing work station, 16GB RAM

@khfr

Oh dear.

I would recommend Fedora but mainly because I am using RedHat for more than 20 years now.

But I'd suggest you try Ubuntu first, as their focus is more on "user-friendly" and "easy to use".
I also suggest you to XFCE for the window manager, as Gnome or KDE would be a bit more RAM hungry.
