Me as a kid: I can’t wait for video games to look like movies
Me as an adult: why the fuck does every movie look like a video game
@Daojoan - on a similar front, why are there so many comic books - a medium, characters and storylines originally created for prepubescent children - being made into major movies and TV shows geared towards adults?
Peter Pan Syndrome?

@bazcook @Daojoan

It's always amusing, in an "I'm sorry your world view's been so limited" way when people don't realize comic books haven't been "just for kids" for almost as long as there've been comic books.

Check out Transmetropolitan or Watchmen (as random examples), and widen your perspective on just *why* there are *SO MANY* comic books, and always has been.

@mousey @Daojoan - oh, I’m aware of ‘graphic novels’, but I’m talking about those comics largely featured in North America. Those of the Superhero genre (arguably initially promoting ‘The American Way’ propaganda - which is kinda fun as Superman’s co-creator was Canadian), or along the lines of Archie, Veronica, etc (also promoting what is ‘right’).
Now they all make it to the screens for adults but in transition most all seem deeply damaged / psychopaths…

@bazcook @Daojoan Well, deeply damanged psychopaths is an apt theme of movie industry executives, corporate executives in general, and now, sadly the executive branch of my stupid fucking government.

It's not my favorite theme either. =(
