No Kings! - Dougherty Loves Democracy’s Anniversary picnic - Honk & Wave with Indivisible South GA · Mobilize
**We have the power and are claiming it together. No Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings.** What began in 2025 as a single day of defiance has become a sustained national resistance to tyranny, spreading from small towns to city centers and across every community determined to defend democracy. Our peaceful movement is bigger than ever. When our families are under attack and costs are pushing people to the brink, silence is not an option. We will defend ourselves and our communities against this administration’s unjust and cruel acts of violence. On March 28th, say it loud: no thrones, no crowns, no kings! We’re not watching history happen—we’re making it. Join us. We will meet in Tift Park (Albany GA) for a picnic and fellowship together to celebrate the one year anniversary of Dougherty Loves Democracy, followed by a Honk & Wave on the corner of Pine Ave and Slappey Blvd. Join us at Tift Park from 11:00-1:00 for a special guest speaker, food, fellowship, sign-making, and an open mic and music (follow up email will contain sign up details if you’d like to perform or speak). This is a family friendly event, bring the kids—there are playgrounds and picnic tables. Then from 1:30-2:30 we will meet at the corner of Pine Ave and Slappey Blvd to hold our signs and wave at folks driving past. Security will be provided at both locations! Please bring a cash donation if you are able to help us cover costs. *A core principle behind all No Kings events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*
