#parkrun app improved a lot since using it last year
@panda I've still not upgraded, probably should. But I fear change :D
@thegiddystitcher I think the technical base might be the same; but the UI was modernised quite a bit. Still use to others, so I can follow all my friends ;)
@panda Yeah I'm just paranoid they'll take away some stuff, now that it's the official parkrun app (it was just an indie project, before). Need to cross-reference and make sure everything is still there in the new one, but no doubt it's just me being silly :D
@thegiddystitcher yeah, I know - guess no need for rapid change if you are fine with the old one.
As I usually see quite badly after finishing a run in winter due to foggy glasses, I like the bigger fonts.

Everyone's all in the wrong place, even the apps on my phone (the name changed too, so the alphabetical app listing now means I keep opening the wrong one).

Functionally, everything's pretty much the same, but a few things are hidden behind different menus. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but not yet.

@hattom @panda I do NOT need any more confusion in the finish funnel when trying not to pass out and somehow wrangle the barcode up on my slippery phone at the same time 😅
@thegiddystitcher @panda
Good news,-- barcode is very unhidden!
@thegiddystitcher @panda
Today I used my phone to scan (ok, I also had a barcode printed on my crown).
98% of the time I use my watch -- but today I only paused my watch and didn't stop it until later.
@thegiddystitcher @panda
My map is also annoyingly centred around Hawaii, an old bug of the old app which happened if you didn't allow location settings. Eventually they fixed it so that it would centre around your home run. That seems to have regressed -- will see if I can work out how to resolve that.
@hattom haha, my phone screens are still a mess after I lost motivation for reorganising them in the middle of the process @thegiddystitcher
@[email protected] I still prefer the parkrunner app's interface.
