So, transfering my old Signal messages from my old phone to my new with the transfer feature was impossible. So now I try with making a backup on the old phone and importing it on the new instead.

I re-registered my old phone, made the backup, sent it to the new phone (thank you, #LocalSend!), re-registered my new phone, and…

Going to Settings -> Backups -> On-device backups, it just says "Open the app and tap Restore backup" Ok, but where!? What!?

@forteller Not sure how iodè does stuff, but some of of the non-google android versions will keep apps so isolated that handing files between them can be a lot more tricky. Dunno if this can be the cause.

You can only import a local backup when you set up signal the first time (on a device)

So if you tried to use signal on the new phone already, you might need to reinstall it.
