Claude's electron app for macOS is such a buggy mess that I've uninstalled it and sequestered it to a Safari tab, just like I did to Slack, Discord, etc., six years ago. ChatGPT is a native app where things like the stop button actually work (usually) https://tonsky.me/blog/fall-of-native/
Claude is an Electron App because we’ve lost native

Article argues that Claude is not an Electron app not because LLMs can’t do it, but because there are no advantages left for native

@searls the thing that really disappointed me about Claude was learning that Claude Code’s TUI is a lie and it’s actually some kind of React bullshit under the hood.

Now I love the web as a platform but with code being much easier to generate now it’s a shame that reflex to re-use web platform code on all platforms is enraging.

@searls the iOS app is worse. Like 20-40% of my requests stall and I have to restart the app to continue the conversation.

@searls this hasn’t been my experience at all. It just works fine for me. What gets buggy?

At this point I don’t blame any company rolling election vs native.
