As a state party to the Genocide Convention, The Kingdom of The Netherlands files a Declaration of Intervention in the ICJ case of the Crime of Genocide in the Gaza Strip (South Africa v. Israel). I guess this is something every country that signed and ratified the Genocide Convention has already done and The Netherlands is late, but not too late. (Rhetorical question. I know many countries have decided to stay silent)

From what I can tell, and please correct me if I am wrong, the Netherlands filled this on the 11th of March 2026.

Iceland, Namibia, the United States of America, Hungary, Fiji have also recently filled their declarations.

@Aprazeth Yes, and for example Germany (among many other countries) did not. The court set the limit for filing (after a few extensions) to the 12th of March 2026, so The Netherlands filed close to that deadline.

@jwildeboer @Aprazeth Germany is having problems generalizing the principal that genocide is bad, even when they aren't doing it. It's extremely German of them.

@quinn The US has no problems, it seems It simply declares "To avoid any doubt, the United States affirms, in the strongest terms possible, that the allegations of “genocide” against Israel are false." in their intervention. Case closed. @Aprazeth

@jwildeboer @Aprazeth to be fair, the asshats running America have no concept of law whatsoever. They don't give a shit about anyone or anything beyond their own appetites. And the long term suffering most Americans go through distorts their sense of reality.
