I'm still into 2014 era dubstep
@andrewrk I'm still into 2004 (and 1994) drum and bass, so I got you covered.
@pervognsen any recs? I enjoy Pendulum, Celldweller, netsky, Bachelors of Science,
@andrewrk camo & krooked are like what you posted but but more early-mid 2010s, hospital records had a lot of good music around then. 2000s would be stuff like concord dawn and pendulum's first album I guess
@andrewrk @pervognsen I’m a big fan of Sub Focus - their first album from 2009 especially is an absolutely banger. You might enjoy it if you like Pendulum!
@andrewrk @pervognsen OOC favorite pendulum album? I think I settled on Immersion. I like how different Knife Party is too…
@cdleary @pervognsen what does "OOC" mean in this context?
@andrewrk @pervognsen "Out of curiosity" -- this is your brain on AOL Instant Messenger
@cdleary @pervognsen ahh of course! it's hard to pick between Immersion and In Silico. Immersion was the first Pendulum album I was exposed to. I like to listen to them both front to back, without skipping any tracks. Both have epic closers. ahhh too hard to choose!
@andrewrk @pervognsen Yeah it was a close race, In Silico being a bit less polished makes it feel more "punk rock ethos" but "Encoder" sealed the deal for me. Thanks for the replies and glad everybody jumped on this thread, cool to see a bunch of folks from the community in the same boat. πŸ˜‚
@cdleary @pervognsen there's a 2025 release πŸ‘€
@cdleary @andrewrk @pervognsen or out of character, when MUDing ;)
@andrewrk @pervognsen I love Ian McQuaid's mixes. Raw sounds, stuff that actually used to be played back in the day I must imagine since he was there for it spinning those records. No nostalgia revisionism here! https://youtu.be/uoMCmhnCK54
