You know what LLMs solved? My RSI.

I miss programming by actually editing the code. I took time to learn the tools to navigate and edit efficiently. I love forming an idea in my head and then sitting down to type it out until it’s formed into existence. I miss that.

I don’t miss the lingering wrist pain. (1/2)

I started to play games again recently because I realized I’m able to. I’m 50 hours into Satisfactory over the last couple of weeks – that would have been a guarantee for weeks of pain management just a year ago.

There’s so much complexity around what LLM assisted coding is doing to software development, on the big scale down to the individual level.

But this one’s simple. Pain gone. Good. (2/2)

@ericteubert I assume you talk to your AI instead of typing? My RSI is almost coming back as Slay The Spire II is taunting me (fun fact, my RSI first flared up badly when I played Slay The Spire on my macbook in bed for too long O_o)

@monkeydom @ericteubert It’s on my list to set this up and give it a try but no, so far still typing. I bet it’s still magnitudes less keystrokes / mouse usage.

Extended laptop usage in bed does sound like an ergonomic nightmare 😬 ARPGs used to be my poison. Diablo 2 recently received an expansion, I can feel my wrist aching just thinking about giving that a try 😅
