Lieut Cdr Patrick Dalzel-Job, RNVR. During WW2, he disobeyed an order to cease civilian evacuations from Narvik. saving 5,000 Norwegians. King Haakon VII of Norway awarded him the Ridderkors of St. Olav, saving Dalzel-Job from a court martial. He is widely thought to be the model for James Bond.

No disrespect to Lieutenant Commander Patrick Dalzel, who obviously displayed courage and action, but James Bond was based on a Canadian.
