Does the english language know of the concept of "Ostohousut" or the phrase "Oli ostohousut jalassa."
Literally "buying pants" and "Was wearing the buying pants on."
Because in Finnish that term exists.
Because I sure was wearing them. Now I have 2x 50ohm scope terminations, a new LiteVNA and finally got a set of PCBite's from Sensepeek for my home lab as well.
@ftg There are the "Spendierhosen" in German, but that implies generously buying things for someone else.
There's the "Kaufrausch" (shopping spree) that fits your situation better.
@ftg Money is burning a hole in your pocket! I wasn't familiar with this one, but another clothing metaphor is, "I've got my shopping shoes on."
@edgetriggered
More of a "the pants made me do it" kainda thing.
Or just commenting that somebody must have been wearing their buying pants.
@edgetriggered @ftg The closest thing I can think of is “I had to buy it, it was on sale!” No clothing involved, just the American desperation for a good deal.
@ftg In Denmark it's "spending pants" (spenderbukserne)
