@sif While not exactly like the herringbone plots, I've done a couple of other visualizations that you might enjoy.

First was the C64 character ROM showing all of the glyphs. Second was the Mac Classic II ROM showing some of the icons contained within.

For more abstract visualization, I did a visualization of a C64 disk image.

Lastly, I did a visualization animation of the erasure of an EPROM over time.

@paulrickards these are cool! did you ever do prints of the disk viz? i have to admit it is making me think of doing something similar with my 3D printer (the only XY device I have atm)
