Things we know:

* Valve have been working on an unknown project called” HLX”
* Valve promised an updated version of the Half-Life 2 “Raising the Bar” book in 2025, but missed the deadline for unknown reasons
* Valve’s new hardware launch has been delayed by the RAM crisis

…there is a non-zero chance that Sam Altman has delayed Half-Life 3

@alexhaydock

....when you thought that you can't hate him any more.🤬

@alexhaydock You can't mention Half-Life 3 so lightheartedly... I've already read those rumours 🤞
Then maybe the RAM issue may give time to polish it... 😬
sam altman could be busy turning the plot of half-life into reality

@alexhaydock Never liked him. Never used his stuff. But now it has gotten personal.

@alexhaydock I'll eat my hat if they call it Half-Life 3. Valve has a longstanding in-joke (which isn't funny) that they avoid the number 3. I mean, they already put out two chapters of a Half-Life 2 sequel and called them Half-Life 2: Episode 1 and Episode 2.

And then left Episode 2 on a cliffhanger.

@MisterMoo @alexhaydock They left Episode 2 on a cliffhanger *twice*.

Which I find even funnier.

@alexhaydock hey i see we follow each other this is a ridiculously aggressive response which you can obviously ignore but have you considered that assigning him this sort of spooky omnipotence might actually be unhelpful to the task of getting this pollution out of our water supply?
@alexhaydock he is also responsible for an extraordinary amount of interpersonal harm which i will not drop on you in a reply like this. no need to respond, hope you have a great day
@alexhaydock Time to ship a box of red crowbars to OpenAI.
