There is a very tall pine tree in the neighbor's back yard across the street, & every year a pair of ravens (not crows) nest in it & raise 2-3 younglings. Each spring, I delight in watching them fly back & forth with sticks as they build a new nest for themselves. I don’t know why they don't reused their old nests, but they never do.

My grandfather was a great bird-watcher and bird-breeder, and he used to talk about them being prone to mites and lice.
