@royaards Isn't capitalism great?
@nazokiyoubinbou @royaards Hi, did you met many humans & other mammals who were more concerned by many (unknown) "there", than by (their own's) here?

@royaards

The clear and painful truth indeed.

@royaards

Replace X axis with the words "High Net Worth Investment Returns"

@royaards

So true and shameful

@royaards sadly so true, but I am most worried about is the environment. Oil spills, fires and who knows what chemicals they use.
@royaards Sadly people always worry about things only if it affects them in some way.

Maybe why the #TrumpEpsteinFiles event was not news back before 2019 or 2008 or last few months

@TCatInReality
Thx 4 orig Tjeerd boost

@royaards@newsie.social It does make sense for how our small community-geared (as in "small communities, not "small and also communities") brains work. X amount of deaths in a far-off country we are powerless to do anything about doesn't move the needle because it's too abstract. Prices that we pay though, that's immediate and does affect how we react.

It is horrible, we need to do more but there's learned helplessness, fear of retribution should you try to fight back and good ol' "I'm alright, Jack" logic among other things, it's not making excuses but highlighting the things we need to overcome.

@royaards that's because people are detached from those being murdered but directly hit in the pocket by fuel prices. The media also masks the horrors and pain of human loss.
@royaards
Les iraniens l'ont mieux compris que Trump ...

@royaards

Sickeningly, a very apt reflection of the majority of people, in no way limited to NL, Europe, or "the West".

@royaards People only tend to care about things that directly affect them - which is kinda sad.
@royaards - And all caused by the Orange Man.

@royaards Agreed. My reason for posting about gas prices is simple -- people dying 7,000 miles away is abstract. But you see the price at the pump roughly every week.

Yes that's fscking horrible but it is true.

@royaards i think it’s a side effect of not having a draft
@royaards im14andthisisdeep ahhh comic

@royaards How about this?

Victims πŸ“ˆ: 🀬
Gas prices πŸ“ˆ: πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰πŸŽ‰

@royaards Sad but true where Israel stubs a toe and it is the end of the world but you can pile up dead Muslims and nobody cares. Tragic
@royaards Painfully true. Powerfully communicated.

@royaards

Not to worry! Someday soon we'll be able to kill all the people we want in developing countries and the cost of transpo won't budge.

And! We'll be able to do it with minimal "friendly" casualties but...yes, there is always a "but"...the robot losses may be severe.

We'll learn to usefully lament *their* grisly deaths too tho! Just to keep the righteous anger levels up to a properly useful patriotic level.

Cry, cry for the bots.

@royaards Am I the only one bothered by the label for the x axis?
