15 years ago today, an earthquake and tsunami struck Japan and triggered the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster. This disaster was not inevitable. It was shaped by human decisions, systemic risks, and flawed energy choices.

And 15 years later, the scars of Fukushima remain - a reminder that energy systems must be built for safety and resilience.

Remembering means learning from the past, and building a safer and more resilient energy future based on renewable energy.

I appreciate stuff that Greenpeace does to raise the profile of environmentalism but this is just scaremongering plain and simple.

Oil extraction and use is the #1 problem that we face. Let's focus on that, ok?

@greenpeace *sorry, not fewer than, but in the same ballpark. And most of those ~2,000 deaths weren't from the meltdown.
