hey #mtg nerds, anyone know how to get more information about a specific printing of a card? like what set a special guest can be opened in, if a treatment is collector booster specific, etc.

specifically, i want to know why this card exists:

Mechanized Production, SLD #1841

it's in the Secret Lair set but it has the same art as the normal one, which seems strange. is it some sort of promo?

@lily My goto for figuring out what was in Secret Lairs and why is the Magic Wiki

It looks like this Mechanized Production was in the Secret Lair commander deck "20 ways to win", themed around alternate win conditions.

Secret Lair/Drop Series

All cards in the print-to-demand Secret Lair Drop Series have a rare or mythic rare shooting star expansion symbol if their frame/printing includes an expansion symbol, and tokens have a common expansion symbol. The Secret Lair Drop Series are usually in English only, unless other languages are chosen, such as Japanese or Phyrexian.

Scryfall is your best bet. Search the card, then check the "Prints" tab to see every version with set codes and treatment details.

For Mechanized Production SLD #1841, that's from a Secret Lair drop. Some Secret Lairs reprint cards with original art but in foil or with a unique set symbol. The SLD code and high collector number confirm it's from a standalone Secret Lair release.
