Numbers don't lie
Numbers don't lie
Well yeah… you blocked me so you won’t see this message, so I’ll guess I’ll answer it for other people instead? That’s how the fediverse works. It’s comprised of different communities. It’s not like I post things all over the place for no reason.
Everything I draw, I share on [email protected] (in english) and [email protected] (in french). They’re my “home” communities. I wouldn’t say it’s the same content posted twice, since it’s in two different languages, but you do you.
This one was a comic too, so I posted it on [email protected]
This one is a smuggie too, so I posted it on [email protected]
That’s it, I posted the english version of this comic in three different communities, two of which are tiny niche communities that you shouldn’t care about. Way to make a mountain out of a molehill.
I also unblocked you because the Fediverse is filled with twats who don’t believe their eyes.
So you’re saying you did not make four different posts with that comic to four different communities? That you simply made one post and that it shows up on your profile as four different posts, just like it shows up on mine?
Perhaps if you want to spam-share your comics (which is fine, artists need exposure), do it on a couple of platforms. Or at least wait a few hours before sharing it four times on the same platform.
I don’t care about your intent. I could have cared about your art, but since you spammed, I didn’t even give it a critical look, just like I don’t read my junk e-mail.
So you’re saying you did not make four different posts with that comic to four different communities?
Do you have the ability to read the comments you are replying to?
I wrote that I did share it to four different communities.
Let me redo it from the top: On lemmy, there are communities. You share your content on the appropriate communities. I posted it to 3 appropriate communities in english (my home community, comics, and smuggies), and to 1 appropriate community in french (my home community). To consider this spam, you have to fundamentally misunderstand how lemmy works. If it makes you unhappy, just block me once again idk what to tell you, you are literally the first person to complain to me about this.
I find it so hilarious when people who don’t read my comments try the “oh you didn’t read my reply” shit.
Ofc I did.
That’s why I said
I don’t care about your intent.
You’ll find that in my unedited comment.
Let me redo this from the top; your intent does not matter. When you post 4 posts in a row to Lemmy, they’re going to be four posts in a row on Lemmy. On Reddit, you can share to a dozen communities without it being spam. On Lemmy you can’t.
Is this hard to understand?
“You’re the first person to”
So the fuck what? I don’t care about your intent. I don’t care about your opinions or experiences. You spammed.
If you actually took into account where you are, or what I said, you could’ve done the same without provoking this reaction. And I don’t really care if you care about it.
You had three posts on the same page, my front page of Lemmy. By what perverted definition would that not be spam?
When you post 4 posts in a row to Lemmy, they’re going to be four posts in a row on Lemmy. On Reddit, you can share to a dozen communities without it being spam. On Lemmy you can’t.
How tf is is it spam??? It’s literally going into four different communities on three different instances. You’ll only see all four if you’re browsing /all, in which case you are taking on the burden of seeing crossposts. If something is relevant in four different communities, it should be posted in four different communities.
You had three posts on the same page, my front page of Lemmy.
It is your responsibility to curate your own feed, not every other user’s
Because on Lemmy there are so few posts it all ends up being put in a row. Which makes it spam.
Or is that hard to understand? The definition of spam is multiple (unwanted, but that’s a non-factor as basically I did want one, as I’m browsing the front page of Lemmy). Is it hard for you to understand why repeating the same thing online, several times, is considered spam? Oh wait, maybe you don’t see that as a question unless I use the same punctuation as you. "Is it hard for you to understand why repeating the same thing online, several times, is considered spam**???**
By your logic you should post a news article to every single fucking news community on Lemmy. That would mean dozens and dozens and dozens of the same exact fucking post on the front page, so that you’d have to scroll thorough several pages to see a single other post than that.
And you don’t see how that wouldn’t be functional?
There’s a reason people dislike spam but I don’t think a newfriend like you is able to understand it.
Hey, curate your own comments and block me instead of replying. But you didn’t. Because you want to be noticed, despite not having a single fucking thing to contribute. Bet you’re like that irl as well. Hop on the bandwagon and yell out shit you don’t even think through.
God I wish I could live back when illiterate morons like you knew to keep their facehole shut. Or when I could cease dueled you for it. Bet you wouldn’t have the balls to still be saying shit. I would.

By your logic you should post a news article to every single fucking news community on LemmySir, this is a Lemmy's.Cross-posting and making seventeen posts is quite different.
And no, no-one cross-posts in a dozen and more communities. And anyone who does it in more than three gets blocked, because that’s spam on Lemmy. It’d be the same as posting the exact same post to Reddit every hour on the hour for 12 hours straight.
Actually cross posting and making 17 posts are literally the exact same thing, if you’re making those 17 posts in different forums
Lmao I didn’t proofread my comment
You’re using the word “forum” a bit wrong. Lemmy is one forum with several communities.
If he posts it once on Lemmy and once somewhere else, we wouldn’t be having this chat.
Instead he posted four (4) times in a row on one (1) forum.
Pretty embarrassing for you to think that arguments online are embarrassing. What are you, 12?
Now we get to argue semantics? Yay! Imagine that instead of “forums,” I had said “communities” or “subforums” or “groups” or any other similar word, and then respond to that instead of getting onto me for using a word differently from you.
I didn’t say that arguments online are embarrassing, I said that your particular attempt to relate what OP did (post the same comic four different times in four different communities) (not spam) to what you did (post the same reply ten different times in response to the same comment) (literally spam) was embarrassing
No, we’re not arguing semantics.
Just like you know what species means and what subspecies mean and that using them doesn’t mean we’re discussing the species problem.
We know that a subspecies and species are two different things and a species is every different from a completely different species than a subspecies, which is not too different from it’s subspecies.
Lemmy is a forum. Communities are the communities on this forum.
When I browse all and have three of the exact same posts at the exact same time, that’s not because of semantics. It’s because of spam.
I didn’t say that arguments online are embarrassing, I said that your particular [argument online]
And you don’t even see you’re doing it. To me anyone with your lever of rhetoric is illiterate. And that is a semantical argument.
Oh yeah sure.
I’ve gotten that reply a million times. Not one of them has blocked me when they said they did.
You just say you do, so you can imagine that you’ve got the last word, when you’re just a quitter.

Lemmy is one forum with several communities. No its not.
