So… the cat distribution system seems to have gotten a bit confused. After losing Livvy, I planned to adopt a pair of 2 or 3 year old cats, whoever kind of reached out to me.

About a month ago l visited Muttville Senior Dog rescue, just to pet dogs with a couple friends.

Big room, lots of people, lots of couches, lots of old dogs.

This scruffy little guy starts howling at me, and I sit with him. He buries his head in my side, for 45 minutes. Who am I to say he’s wrong?

So, instead of two young cats, I have a 12 year old tiny dog named Bob.

If you are looking to spend time with animals, even if you aren’t in a place to adopt, I cannot recommend Muttville in SF or Cat Town in Oakland enough.

The staff and volunteers are very kind and helpful and you are helping the animals with a bit of socialization while you get your snuggles in.

Muttville

Muttville's mission is to change the way the world thinks about and treats older dogs and to create better lives for them through rescue, foster, adoption, hospice, education, and advocacy.

@Turtlecatpurrz Oh, what a lovable goofball!

And yes, what a nice idea for the shelter to make a public service out of their socialization program.

@AmeliasBrain It’s win win. People who are looking to adopt can meet them, people who just need a cuddle can help them, and get their needs met, and the animals rent in tiny kennels. Those that get along with others can socialize with their species too.
