@Gargron these were the times when Machines used to actually talk to us.
You used to be able to hear a computer do work. Hard drive noise meant it's busy reading or writing files, fan noise meant the CPU load is high. My modern MacBook is just silent 99% of the time. I had to put gauges into the menu bar so I could see how busy it is.
@Gargron Going from an instant-on C64 to a disk loading Mac Plus was quite the shock. Mitigated only by how cool and futuristic Finder looked.
