DuckDuckGo

@EndlessMason @vileboss How do YOU accomplish this?

1. Go to noai.duckduckgo.com for every search (do people use bookmarks anymore?
2. Download the DuckDuckGo browser? You need to turn off at least three settings to get the same as #1
3. Pay for #KagiSearch, set up the Brave browser with that as default search – wrestle with the ethics of using their Ai that gives sources (many thanks to @kagihq)
4. Do nothing, scroll by the ads & Ai
5. All of the above

@dxzdb @vileboss @kagihq

In firefox you'd

- visit noai.duckduckgo.com
- right click the search box, select "add search", name it "ddg noai", click save
- go into Settings > Search
- select the search you created in the step above.

@EndlessMason @vileboss @kagihq Good to know - but Firefox chased me away.
How about Safari?

@dxzdb @vileboss @kagihq
I don't have the hardware required to run Safari.

Edit: maybe this?

I'm sold on having multiple browsers with different search engines.

Don't think it's possible to change default Safari search to noai.DDG. I wonder if Edge can …

Opera - I can add a shortcut to new search but can’t make it default search.

Vivaldi - I can change the default search but it doesn't work well for me. I have to enter search term twice

Brave - has some great search shortcuts I didn't know about - and adding a custom one does work!
