Roof Update: wall now cleared in the main. We did find a lot of sand and rubble behind the lathe. It is likely that this was causing our damp problems - acting as a wick between the stone wall and the lathe and plaster interior. #HouseRestoration #StormAmy #Damp

2/3 The lathe came off quite easily but was very messy coming down. And our arms ache! I get extra points for doing a stint while OH watched the rugby. I am sure that is why Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 won!

Inside the sealed cavity behind the drawers in my miniature desk is a note in tiny pencil handwriting that reads ‘Janet me fecit’ that will only ever been seen again if the desk is taken apart in its entirety. The true Scots term for someone who does things like this is ‘wanker’.
