@Janet_52square @ColesStreetPothole Goodness, thatās a lot of work (quite a while since Iāve done that myself).
I havenāt been keeping up with things; where do you think the damp is originating? Sure, that slumped damp sand in the interwall isnāt helping.
Wow, that's great progress!

i was just about to reply and say that i do love the rhythm and pull of a good waltz and then realised that's probably not what you meant š
but also, goodness me, you've been busy janet. well done for the problem solving! is the roof all ok now?
how much more have you got to do before you can put it back again (well i mean not back how it was with the damp and all ... you know what i mean!)
and the tiny wee lampshade toooooo)@Janet_52square @moonrabbit @ColesStreetPothole
A lady at Miniature Club is making a sort of Book nook, but it'll just be a miniature book shelf that sits between two of her books. I suggested that the miniature bookshelf needs a miniaturer one between two of the books and so on....
Perhaps a miniature bedroom, with one stripped wall, and in that wall a miniature bedroom with one stripped wall......
@Janet_52square @moonrabbit š Of course you did.
Spouse is admiring your tiny room. š We are both very impressed.
EDIT: OMG, there's a book under the divan.
@Janet_52square
Excellent work!
Heck of a tidy up though. I remember those days....
@Janet_52square
Are you replacing it yourselves or contractors via the insurance?
Foil backed and insulated board?
That certainly will wick moisture.
I've seen old cottages etc being renovated here and they put the kind of damp-proof membrane (Plastic sheet?) as used in solid concrete floors on the stone wall, then battens & insulation followed by an special plasterboard/drywall that has foil, plastic, insulation and plasterboard all in one.
No kind of drywall/plasterboard is accepted at the recycling centre as it's all composite.
Check the fire rating. Some Kingspan burns too well.
@Janet_52square
Good.
Glad you found an obvious cause.
There was an insulation grant here and loads of approved installers "retrofitting" foam to cavities caused huge dampness and mould issues. More sane companies added internal drywalls and/or non-flammable external cladding. Especially on cavity block build houses.
Also a disgrace was that cavity blocks with no external or internal insulation were allowed for houses here till recently.
My shed is cavity block which makes it cold and damp.
