Apple MacBook Neo review: Can a Mac get by with an iPhone’s processor inside?
8GB of RAM is a bummer, but this $599 laptop cuts most of the right corners.

@arstechnica I guess we're just going to have to pretend that 599 is a reasonable price for a Netbook because Apple made it
@anthropy @arstechnica Considering the A18 Pro is faster (single core) than the M1, It hardly qualifies as a Netbook
@anthropy It's just a big phone that you can't use as a phone.
@VickForcella I think I prefer the Sony Vaio Type P in that case
@anthropy The big question is, Can you use it to crack nuts?
@VickForcella [insert bad joke about the mouse pointer nub here]
@anthropy perv...
@VickForcella I take no responsibility for what your dirty mind made of that loose amalgamation of words between brackets
@VickForcella isn't it funny to think you can just promptengineer humans and they'll make a face at you because their brain rendered it but you can't see the output
@anthropy @arstechnica or I could buy a refurbished business class Thinkpad for $400 and has 16GB of ram
@anthropy @arstechnica oh wait I already did

@FrazzledWings @arstechnica thinkpads are solid.

I'm still trying to get my hands on a Carbon X gen 8, I had that one at work and the party trick was that you could yeet it on the floor and stomp on the open screen.

I left it on my car once and it hit a tree and snapped in half, but the screen still worked so I ducttaped it together and used it for weeks like that before I got the replacement. I probably have a picture of it somewhere .. found it

@anthropy I actually remember you tooting about it lol πŸ¦‡
@arstechnica would love to get a Linux powered version of this type of laptop for $399 or less. Hopefully someone like #Dell builds it!
@arstechnica 8gb isn't a bummer, it's tim cook laughing in peoples faces..
