boy the nerds really seem opposed to this $500 macbook that they haven't tried
Okay the correlary (of sorts) are folks who are continuing to say that Apple is magical and 8gb is really 16gb for a Mac. Cmon. No it's not. But it almost certainly doesn't matter for this machine.

@joshcalvetti For the record, I’m not opposed to the Neo. I think it’s a good entry-level machine and it has something I really like: it’s the lack of a notch on the display, something I thought forever lost after the M1 MacBook Air.

About the RAM: my 2013 11-inch MacBook Air has 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. I use it for regular stuff (email, web, text processing, photo editing) and it’s never felt sluggish. It also still runs High Sierra, though. 😉

@morrick I think it looks like an incredible machine for $500. I wouldn't give up the mLED + wider color of my MBP display to lose the notch, but I strongly dislike its existence. I think the Neo looks nicer as a result.

I wouldn't wish 4gb on anyone with a modern Mac, but I hardly think 8gb is going to sink it. It will be plenty useable, especially for the folks who this computer is being marketed to.

@joshcalvetti One-hundred-percent agree.
