I've been using Claude Code over the past month to help fabricate the film tracker I've always wanted. I've taken a pretty firm hand with the design and functionality, but this is still a pretty new experience for me. Would love to get some feedback or ideas from anyone who is interested! I'd also appreciate any reposts or shares 🙂

Black ships of Umbar sail into view up the Anduin—but the leading ship unfurls a standard: a white tree and seven stars wrought by the Lady Arwen. To the City’s rescue have come Aragorn, his Rangers, Legolas, Gimli, the sons of Elrond, and thousands of men of southern Gondor.

Pippin watches the Witch-king enter the Gate of Minas Tirith. Gandalf, on Shadowfax, is waiting. ‘You cannot enter here.’

The Nazgûl raises his sword.

A cock crows—and is joined by the music of distant horns: King Théoden and the Rohirrim, charging the fields of the Pelennor.

The first Mac I bought was a B&W G3 tower in 2007. That's all I had money for. I loved that machine- still have it in my attic. The ability to boost the ram and storage was nice, but I felt the limitations of that GPU and CPU every day. I was always a few models behind and that taught me what tweaks to make and what to prioritize. I wouldn't trade those experiences for a brand new machine in 2007. It taught me to appreciate the system and learn, just like Sam. A beautiful piece of writing.

Okay the correlary (of sorts) are folks who are continuing to say that Apple is magical and 8gb is really 16gb for a Mac. Cmon. No it's not. But it almost certainly doesn't matter for this machine.
boy the nerds really seem opposed to this $500 macbook that they haven't tried

In 2013 Aaron Swartz committed suicide for facing 35 years in prison for mass downloading scientific articles.

13 years later, Meta is almost getting away with an infraction orders of magnitude larger.

The law didn't change.

Uploading Pirated Books via BitTorrent Qualifies as Fair Use, Meta Argues * TorrentFreak

In an ongoing lawsuit, Meta now argues that uploading pirated books to strangers via BitTorrent qualifies as fair use.

The only feature of 1Password that matters is their business dies overnight if they get hacked so they’ve thought harder about security than anyone you know.

You can’t vibe code that in two evenings no matter how much you ask Claude to “make it secure”

Looks like they were going to call it "MacBook" until very recently. At least, that's what the machine icon in 26.3.1 shows…
