Michaela Moua, the European Commission’s anti-racism coordinator, is anxious. “Independent of what's happening in the US, we’re seeing the normalisation of hatred and racism, and that is extremely worrying, as it can lead to violence and even death. We have already seen that,” she told EUobserver in an interview.

@Meron @blogdiva This is why I beg Black folks in the US to do their research before coming here & not listen only to travel influencers. But I've only been in Europe 25 years, so what do I know?

@rashunda @Meron @blogdiva we have leading politicians be openly racist across much of Europe now. parties with openly racist and xenophobic ads making strong gains in elections, in some cases getting over 30% of the vote. this is plain to see even for white people. anyone that doesn't see the racism at this point is in deep denial or has an agenda. even the "moderately" racist white folks we know see this as a problem.
