I feel very alone in that I do not subscribe to YouTube channels, follow any YouTubers, watch YouTube series, or anything. I am uninterested entirely.

I go to YouTube *only* when I am looking for something very specific, and it is always not content made for the purposes of being on YouTube, but that YouTube is a site you can easily post a video. That is occasionally archival footage or something, for example. I don’t like videos where people talk to me. It’s unsettling.

@louie If you’re hoping to feel 1% less alone, ditto to all of the above. For both myself and my wife, for that matter.
@louie hello Louie! Hope you will feel a little less alone because it’s exactly the same in my house! We only use YouTube for really precise videos and that’s not often! Have a good day!

@louie I too hope you feel less alone. I don't even use an account to interact with the service.

I think a major cause of this situation is that those services suggest to us an image of what the average usage of their platform is that simply doesn't align with reality. Whenever I see phone ads I see happy people talking to their "AI" boyfriends. Whereas in reality most people just want at device that runs simple apps, takes photos and has long battery life.
You're not alone.

@louie i feel you, but also have a question. do you consume any other user generated video content on other platforms?
