I'd say Ryka Aoki Light from Uncommon Stars, The Stars are Legion by Kameron Hurley, and Margaret Killjoy's The Lamb Will Slaughter the Lion.

@golgaloth Mary Robinette Kowal's "Lady Astronaut" series is a fun alt-history, like "For All Mankind".

I'm a huge and enduring fan of Lois McMaster Bujold's SF: she has created a fun world filled with fascinating people.

C. J. Cherryh is probably my favorite hard SF author of all time, and one of the few authors who I think can combine deftly "highly personal" and "high concept" writing.

N. K. Jemisin's "Broken Earth" trilogy is brilliant, but pretty dark. I love all her stuff, though.
