@herissonrose how is your pups temperament around human strangers ?

Most WolfDogs I’ve seen do not like anyone but their owners and housemates

@64bithero Lusha is a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog - low content German Shepherd cross, and classed as a dog breed in Europe. Her last wolf ancestor was 21 generations back.

She actually likes most people! Does a silly goofy dance around them in a circle, wagging her whole butt and grinning.
But if they get too close, she dances away.. I call it Social Dog-Dancing.

Takes 2-4 meetings to fully accept a new person. Some she likes straightaway (older folks, women). Others she won't approach at all..

@64bithero I think American wolfdogs are much higher content generally? Very shy, avoidant, anxious by new things / people and loud noises.

Lusha is unfortunately a bit like that, tho we've done a lot of training to make her less stressed by busy places and during hunting season (gunfire makes her panic).

She's much better, but still tense / never fully comfortable until we turn to leave the Stressful Thing. Like me I guess.

@64bithero Every other Czech Wolfdgo I've met was less highly strung and more dog-like in personality than she was - tho wary of strangers, or took their cue on how to behave from their owners reaction.

Mine (oddly) is much more friendly and goofy.. but only at a distance.
