#Bluesky is lucky to have Toni as an interim CEO. He was the first CEO I ever actually enjoyed working under. He focussed on how the product is only as good as the employees are allowed to be.

Bluesky CEO Jay Graber Is Stepping Down

Venture capitalist Toni Schneider will take over as interim CEO as Bluesky’s board of directors hunts for a permanent replacement.

@macmanx Oh... you have any insights to share? I'm always a bit ... concerned about seeing that VC stuff in there but maybe there's hardly a way to do without. And changes like these always feel a bit weird so I was surprised but not mainly in a good way. Not sure here, open to any explanation I could get.🙈
@z428 He’s genuinely a good guy, cares about employees and the product equally. Happy employees make good things. I don’t think he’s bringing the VC funding with him, he’s just keeping the seat warm until Bluesky finds someone long-term.
@macmanx Yeah, I noticed it's just a temporary position. Curious to see where they are heading and how far the ideas of Bluesky / ATProto will work out with a new person in that seat. Happy, after all, to see a growing ecosystem such as eurosky.social or Blacksky. No personal issues with him but unfortunately no shortage of (first/second hand) negative experiences with anything related to VC, either. Thanks for sharing this. 😊
@macmanx Wow, that's great to hear, thank you
