@dynom That is a nice one. I already have the simpler version that @oxapentane suggests.

It turned out to not be the cable, but my e-reader not playing nice with those newfangled USB 3 ports.

Putting a hub in between did help though. I was already wondering, quite sure I have eliminated all the no-data micro-USB cables from my home.

@Dany @oxapentane I've heard that before from e-readers being picky.
