Roof Update: wall now cleared in the main. We did find a lot of sand and rubble behind the lathe. It is likely that this was causing our damp problems - acting as a wick between the stone wall and the lathe and plaster interior. #HouseRestoration #StormAmy #Damp
@Janet_52square
Is that sand meant to be rammed earth?
I wonder how it's going to breath with board?
@Janet_52square
Sorry, did I mention Dr Tim Meek for lime finishes?
@MyKomment Don’t know Tim, I took the Scottish Lime Trust homeowner’s course last October - learned a great deal. It isn’t suppose to be packed with sand, the sand come from deteriorated mortar in the wall.
@Janet_52square
Yes, I saw your ScotLimeTrust post, very very good.
I don't have that sort of property but due to heritage interests and being anti cavity wall insulation had followed lime people in twitter. Tim Meek is mainly a harling fan, there are others. There's so many opinions on internal insulation though, thanks for sharing yours.
There's a Glasgow tenement one too. Will find a link.
@Janet_52square
I wont bleat on but here's one. Sandstone solid wall using limecrete ( I think).
Lisa Pasquale, was on twitter, evaporated sadly.

@MyKomment Thanks! Will take a look. Liking the lime-nerd subgroup identity very much!!
