The Fox network is covering for the fact that Trump’s a disrespectful jerk to our fallen soldiers and their families.

@georgetakei When I was a soldier (conscript in the German army in 1985), I was taught:

You must not salute when you’re not in uniform.

That was a big no-no.

Is U.S. code different or does he ignore it as everything else.

@masek @georgetakei Over here in England (ok, Wales) we have fake admirals who wear fake uniform, who reveal themselves (to observent real ex-servicemen) by their fake salutes. It can get quite complicated....
@masek @georgetakei I was taught that too. It's really weird to see civs salute.

@masek @georgetakei apparently, in US vets in civs may salute the flag as of 2009, but I don't know if it applies here, especially considering the cheddar is a draft dodger, but technically chief of armed forces, and many sites specify civilians may not salute, but put hand on heart instead.

Salute - Wikipedia

@masek @georgetakei The US president is the commander of the armed forces. As such I'm pretty sure the president is excluded from the "in uniform" portion of the regulations regarding salutes.
