Some people tell me there are good Republicans.

Republicans made Donald possible.

Donald destroyed the Constitution, ruined every international relationship, and caused the deaths of hundreds (if not thousands) of human beings.

I think some people are mistaken.

@Gustodon Do you know who else made Donald possible? Democrats. And the fact you can't see it says everything.
@Black_Flag
So, the 75 million who voted for "not Donald" somehow secretly conspired to ensure that their votes were insufficient to stop him? The point was about whether there were good republicans, not could more effective opposition have changed the outcome, or even would a different outcome have been substantially better. Actively supporting is a moral choice, and continuing support affirms that choice.
@Gustodon Get rid of the electoral college system. It perverts US democracy.

@LillyHerself @Gustodon

Get rid of the two-party system, the electoral college, and Citizen's United.

I'm sick of voting for the guy who might be less worse than the other guy. I want to vote FOR someone, not to vote against evil.

@Gustodon

No such thing as good Republicans, but the normal Republican baseline that still honors the Constitution and due process is not the worse thing.

They can even show compassion and find compromise that balance out their usual predatory instincts.

I prefer normal Republicans (sociopath minor) in the minority.

@silkester I appreciate your point of view but I think the entire party is a gang of irredeemable psychopaths.

@Gustodon

Sociopaths. Psychopaths implies that they have a brain defect. Sociopathy doesn't make this distinction.

Sociopathy can be both: a birth defect or learned and most Republicans are of the second kind.

Psychopaths need special training to not end up in prison or in management positions exploiting their employees cruelly.

Sociopaths who learned their cruelty and don't fall into the psychopath category can unlearn, while it is nearly impossible for psychopaths late in life.

@Gustodon
Both psychopathy and sociopathy are on a spectrum.

Most pre-Trump Republicans registered lower on the sociopathy scale than now.

But then any country that has a prison population and the death penalty in generally register higher on the sociopathy scale regardless of their party affiliation.

@silkester I don't know much about nomenclature, to be honest. They are missing something important, and it makes them comfortable with dark, ugly acts.

@Gustodon

I'm not exactly an expert, but I did read up on the difference. I try to avoid the slur psycho, because it is derived from an actual clinical condition, where people born with it have no say and have to deal with the condition all their lives.

Sociopath covers both & the definition what is & isn't a sociopath derives from behavioral observations. Calling s.o. a sociopath is a comment on their action not on their person. Most have absolutely a choice and chose not to act on empathy.

@Gustodon

Anyone who isn't evil has run away from the GOP over a decade ago.
