being a system thats roughly 1/4 syskids is really odd, because its incredibly common for them to be excluded from serious conversations or even entire spaces.

it entirely just leads to them obscuring or lying about their internal ages. this is fine, but i know that they wish they could talk more about their specific experiences without being talked down to. thankfully, it seems that community thought on this sort of thing is slowly shifting.

the plural community (especially syscord) has an INTENSE ableism problem, and this is just one of the much smaller examples.

#plurality #plural #pluralgang how do you do tags on this.... idk how they work

@frith no, you've done tags right (thought i would also maybe add #pluralgang )
@frith *THOUGH. darn keyboard :P
@GroupNebula563 thank you ! do you know if the number that shows up under the tags when i type them accurate just to my local instance or to all instances? im guessing only my local instance. do my tagged posts only show up to users on my instance, or all fediverse users looking up "#plural" ?
@frith the number shown is all posts your instance is *aware* of. when you look up a tag, some instances will query their peers and some won't and only go off posts they're aware of. if you want to follow a hashtag and get it in your timeline, i suggest the fedibuzz relay (which pulls posts in from other instances too, so you get more posts https://relay.fedi.buzz)
#FediBuzz Relay

The buzzing ActivityPub relay service

@frith you just copy the URL it gives you (in this case https://relay.fedi.buzz/tag/plural) and put it in your search bar to give you a followable account (in this case @tag-plural) - or you can search for the accounts manually by their usernames following the same formula as the one i just @-ed
