Also me: I finally ordered an M5 iPad Pro (even tho that means my M2 iPad Pro's Magic Keyboard and Apple Pencil are now useless -- I can keep the Pencil for the lost iPad mini, I guess) that I get tomorrow and will probably be buying my husband a refurb M4 MBA and am also looking at getting another M4 Mac mini...

I'm the fucking worst.

@vnangia macOS Tahoe, a decade of regressions in UX, design, and general care, the way the whole Apple Care One fiasco thing happened and wound up costing me money. The fact that I can't have two separate iMessage accounts active on one device (each with its own separate eSIM) so I had to buy a whole second phone, the embarrassment of the latest Apple display updates. The way they are going to deprecate Rosetta2 for no fucking reason, the ass-kissing of government officials, the AI lies...

@vnangia like, there are more than that. But it really just comes down to the fact that even though Apple is better than any of the alternatives (but I don't think it's that much better anymore to convince people to switch full hog like they used to...the hardware still fucks, but the software is a total mess...better than the alternatives but for how long?) and the hardware I use today is better, the experience I have every day is worse in most cases than it was a decade ago.

@film_girl All excellent points. Though when I’ve made these points, I get absolutely dragged for it, so all I can say is thank goodness for @siracusa fighting the good fight and documenting dumb UI behavior.
